Active Scholarship For Technical Students (2025)

As of October 2025, there are currently three scholarship for students in India, pursuing technical education. Check out the details of scholarship programs below.

1. Pragati Scholarship Scheme

The Pragati Scholarship Scheme is specifically for female students who are pursuing technical education in India.

You will receive a one-time scholarship amount of ₹50,000 each year till the completion of your course. 

2. Saksham Scholarship Scheme 

The Saksham Scholarship Scheme is for students with disabilities pursuing technical education. You will receive a one-time scholarship amount of ₹50,000 every year till your degree is completed. 

3. Swanath Scholarship Scheme 

The Swanath Scholarship Scheme is for the wards of:

  • Someone impacted by COVID-19
  • Armed forces and central paramilitary personnel martyred
  • Someone suffering from a life-threatening disease.

You will receive a lump sum of ₹50,000 (it can vary based on requirement, family income, degree, etc.) This amount can be used to cover college fees, computer purchase, books, equipment, etc.

Eligibility Criteria For Scholarship For Students In India

Now, before you apply for any of the scholarships, let’s clearly understand the eligibility criteria for the different scholarships offered by AICTE in 2025. 

1. AICTE Pragati Scholarship 

AICTE Scholarship: AICTE Prgati Scholarship

To be eligible for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme, you must be:

  • A female student of India, pursuing any technical course
  • In the first year of your diploma or degree, or in the second year, admitted through lateral entry in any AICTE-approved institution
  • A member of a family whose annual income is less than ₹8,00,000.

Also, if you have a sister, then she can also apply for the scholarship. Up to two female members per family can apply for this scholarship. 

2. AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme

AICTE Scholarship: AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme

The AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme is for the specially abled students. To be eligible for this scholarship scheme, you must:

  • Be an Indian student in technical education 
  • Be from a specially abled category with a benchmark disability of not less than 40%
  • Be in your first year of diploma or degree, or in the second year, admitted through lateral entry in an AICTE-approved institution. 
  • Have a family income of less than 8 LPA.

3. AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme 

AICTE Scholarship: AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme

To be eligible for the AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme, you must be a ward of any of the following. 

  • Someone impacted by COVID-19 (lost one or both parents due to COVID-19)
  • Armed forces and Central Paramilitary Forces personnel martyred in action 
  • A PwD (above 80%)
  • A parent suffering from any critical life-threatening disease.

Along with this, you must:

  • Be an Indian student pursuing technical education (a degree or diploma in a technical field)
  • Have a family income of less than ₹8,00,000 per annum. 

The best part about this scholarship is that students in any year (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th) can apply for this scholarship. 

The duration of your degree program should not be more than 4 years and for diploma students, it should not be more than 3 years.

How To Apply For The AICTE Scholarship 2025?

Step 1: Visit the official page 

Firstly, visit the official page where AICTE scholarship is listed. Click here to view the official listings. Make sure to apply only from the official pages to prevent getting scammed.

Step 2: Locate the scholarship you are eligible for

Now, scroll down and you will find a list of active scholarships. You can check the eligibility criteria for each of the scholarship and click on ‘Apply Now’ for which you wish to apply for. 

Step 3: Register Yourself

Now, you will see a screen as shown in the image below. If you already have an account, then sign in using your credentials. Otherwise, create a new account.

If you are creating a new account, then you will be asked to provide your details like your name, email ID, mobile number, and a new password. Enter all of these details, check the box for terms and conditions, and click on sign up. 

Step 4: Complete OTR process

Then, enter a working mobile number to get OTP. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Submit’. You will be asked to provide some of your information. After filling the required details, click on ‘Save & Register’ to complete the One-time Registration (OTR) process. 

To complete the OTR process, you will be asked to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication. 

Step 5: Upload Documents 

Now, all the required documents, like your marksheet, identity proof, income certificate, category certificate, a medical certificate, etc. You might have to upload different documents for each scholarship. Check clearly what’s asked and then complete the action.

Step 6: Complete your application 

Finally, cross-check all the details and submit your application. If you get selected, then you will receive an official email about the further procedure. 

Note: The scholarship amount will be transferred directly to your bank account.
